How to Find Success by Changing the Language You Use – Limiting Beliefs

Limiting beliefs are limiting beliefs, opinions that you think are the truth. They often have an adverse affect on one’s life both on a psychological and a physical level by preventing them from growing and moving forward. As with all limiting beliefs, they are usually unconscious and therefore not easily recognized or changed. Most times, limiting beliefs are just plain, ordinary thoughts which act as a protection mechanism against potentially higher or worse vibrating feelings (i.e. frustration, fear…

A common limiting belief is the “I can’t do that”, “I can’t do that forever”, “I can’t do that part of me that I love”, or “I’m not good enough”. These kind of limiting beliefs help us resist changing our ways by maintaining a mental barrier that keeps us stuck and prevents progress. These neurological pathways get activated whenever we experience a loss or some kind of failure, and they keep us from taking advantage of every opportunity that comes our way.

One of the main purposes of these limiting beliefs is to protect us from changing. They stop us from doing something that may be more effective than what we are doing right now. Limiting beliefs like this prevent us from enjoying all the things that could make life better. If you are suffering from them, then you need to take the time to find out why they are holding you back and work towards changing them.

Once you understand the reasons for your limiting beliefs, you have the opportunity to find a way to get over them. There are many ways to do this, and it all starts with understanding the relationship between your subconscious mind and your conscious mind. Your conscious mind is the one that makes use of your limiting beliefs, while your subconscious is where those negative beliefs reside.

You can break these self-limiting beliefs anytime you want. This is because your subconscious mind does not know the difference between reality and imagination. Your conscious mind will always tell you that what you feel is what reality is. The thing is, your subconscious mind has been conditioned through negative conditioning to believe that limiting beliefs are true. So, when you tell it what your beliefs really are, it will automatically begin to believe them.

The first step to breaking a self-limiting belief is to find out what it is that you are basing your beliefs on. Write down the belief that you are holding to, along with the facts about that belief. Break this out into two parts; one part as a question, and one part as an answer. The question part should be written in a neutral way, such as, “If I was told this, what would happen?”

The answer you give during this step may not necessarily be what you believe. It may simply be based on logic and evidence. When you test this answer, you will find out whether it is correct or not. If it is incorrect, then you simply need to change the belief that you used to justify your limiting beliefs.

In order to effectively start using this method, you must first be aware of how your beliefs are holding you back. Once you are aware of this, you are better able to make a change. Remember that your actions begin to dictate your outcomes. If you continue to live by these self-limiting beliefs, nothing good will ever come from them. However, if you make the conscious decision to change, then things will begin to change for you!

You are probably wondering how this works. It is quite simple actually. The first part of this step forward starts with the belief that you are never good enough. You must convince yourself that you are never good enough no matter what. Once you are convinced of this, then you can start using this method.

Here is another example of how this same method can work for you. Imagine that you are in a very deep sleep. Your neurological pathways have completely shut down. There are absolutely no neurological pathways awake and functioning. Now you must use your subliminal messages to convince yourself that you are still very capable and worthy of success.

You see, your subconscious mind is like a computer that has software. Just like any computer program, it is very easy to change the settings on a computer. You can alter the programming so that you no longer believe that you are bad, or that you need to hold onto limiting beliefs. Once you do this repeatedly, you will find that you can get rid of the beliefs that are holding you back. You will be amazed at how quickly all the limiting beliefs and thoughts simply fade away.
