Self-Esteem Vs Ego – How They Relate

It’s difficult to compare your Self-Esteem with Ego. Ego comes from the Latin word, “ego.” Your Self-esteem comes from the Greek word, “praisos.” When comparing your Self-esteem with ego, you have to first accept the differences between the two. You must then ask yourself the following questions:

Can you admit when you are wrong? The first step to building self-esteem is admitting when you are wrong. Without admitting that you are wrong, you will never get any progress in your development. And self-esteem won’t improve.

Do you love yourself? Self-esteem is a very important aspect of a person’s life. A person with low self-esteem thinks that he doesn’t deserve to be happy, successful, or successful. Conversely, a person with high self-esteem believes he is worth it, that he is valuable, and that he deserves everything he has. Self-esteem is what dictates how much you value yourself and your abilities.

Are you a problem-solver? One of the biggest problems with people with low self-esteem is the fact that they have trouble finding a solution to most problems. They will not be able to come up with good solutions to their problems. As an example, if you want to fix a car that is broken, you might find it helpful to first talk with the mechanic before talking to the owner. By talking first with the mechanic, you will learn more about the problem than the person who broke the car will.

Do you have a plan? Self-esteem comes from having a plan. A plan for what you want to accomplish and how you are going to get there. It is also important to have a vision of where you want to get to. If you don’t have a plan, you are like a ship without a rudder, wandering aimlessly through the ocean.

Are you willing to compromise? A person with a low self-esteem is usually unwilling to make any changes in their life because they are too afraid to make them. They won’t accept the help of others because they are worried that the others will change them. As an example, if you are doing your best to build your self-esteem but you still feel inferior about yourself, it may be because you refuse to make any changes.

Is patience a virtue? If you have a very short attention span, or if you are highly impatient, you have a low self-esteem. You may need to learn to concentrate a little more on the task at hand and not get so upset over the smallest details. This way, you will learn to manage your time better and achieve more in less time.

Are you a people-person? Have you ever thought of asking for a favor? Many times we overlook the things we give to others because we worry that they’ll say or do something back. On the other hand, if you give something to someone who has a high regard for you, they will likely reciprocate your gesture. In the same manner, if you sincerely appreciate the efforts of another person, he or she will likely return your warm thoughts. In the process, you will find that you have higher self-esteem and more respect for people around you.

Do you have an inner critic? Well, this critic can be quite detrimental to your self-esteem. If you constantly berate yourself for not living up to your ideal, you will soon feel as though you can never live up to the standards set by others. In order to avoid such a situation, learn to relax and take things at their own pace.

Is social interaction important for your self-esteem and overall confidence? The truth is, you will gain far more self-esteem and confidence by interacting with others on a regular basis. It is true that you need to put in work to become successful, but if you are able to take the time out to listen to and be around other people, you will begin to see them as more than just people that you run into everyday. As time goes on, you will become increasingly confident in all areas of your life.

As you can see, these are very important factors to consider when it comes to determining what is good or bad about your self-esteem vs. ego. By doing so, you will begin to develop a positive outlook on life, as well as, increase your self-confidence. This is something that everyone can benefit from. So, make some time to evaluate your own situation today, and determine which way you want to go.
