Self Limiting Beliefs And How To Remove Them

Do you have any self-limiting beliefs? Do you believe that you are somehow “not good enough” or that you have “loved ones” who will abandon you if you deviate from their teachings? Do you believe that you can’t achieve your goals because of your age, gender, education, ethnic background, physical appearance, etc.? These are all self-limiting beliefs. They keep you in a box and prevent you from achieving your goals.

You must break free of these limiting beliefs. There is no such thing as “limits”. Anything can be done if you set your mind to it. Anything is possible. If your mind believes that you are limited in some way then it will become limited. It’s that simple.

I know what you’re thinking… it can’t be true! It can’t be true that what I want in life will only come to me if I follow this crazy path of trying to please everyone all the time. Well, it’s not true! You can have whatever you want in your life when you break free of these limiting beliefs. They will not help you achieve anything except make you unhappy.

Here’s the secret. Instead of trying to please people all the time and trying to be liked, set yourself goals and go for them. The key is to write down your goals and keep them handy. When you go to bed at night visualize yourself achieving each goal. Make sure you are living in your future.

Here’s an example. Let’s say you want to be an Attorney. So you set up a chart on your bedroom wall. At night, as you sleep, write down what things you would like to accomplish in terms of becoming an Attorney. This may include reading books on law, watching hours of Law TV, attending law school seminars and even going to law school classes.

You see, your biggest limiting belief that is stopping you is the “I can’t” belief. This is caused by self-limiting beliefs about yourself. If you believe you cannot become an Attorney because of the way you look, or the color of your skin, or your education, then you will never become successful in anything. This will prevent you from reaching your goals.

The “I can” attitude is the self-limiting beliefs about your capabilities. Think about the Law of Attraction and manifesting. If you think that you are unable to get things done in a certain area, then you are limiting yourself. Instead of saying I can’t do this, say I will do this and achieve it. By believing you have the ability to do something and seeing yourself doing it, yourself beliefs about yourself change to I can do it. And before you know it, you are already doing it.

Your self-limiting beliefs are not true. You have all the capabilities and skills that anyone else has. All you need to do is use them. If you want success in whatever you are doing, begin by changing your self-limiting beliefs to believe you are capable of doing it, and you will.

Your self limiting beliefs will keep you from experiencing the success that is possible for you. It will keep you from knowing what is possible for you. You must realize that when you tell yourself something is impossible, it is not true. But when you tell yourself you are capable of doing something, then it is true.

Change the self-limiting beliefs about you. Believe you have the ability to do it. Then begin applying the steps you need to take. You must change the way you think about yourself and how you see the possibilities for you.

Begin by writing down things that discourage you. Think about why you are unable to become successful. Make a list of reasons, and determine how each one of those reasons keeps you from achieving your goals. Ask yourself if you truly believe that belief, or if you are allowing your belief to be true.

When you discover that a particular self-limiting belief is not true, simply remove it from your mind. Tell yourself you are capable of doing it. Tell yourself that you have the ability to do it. Tell yourself that you have all the tools and abilities necessary for success. Allow this belief to go away, and then begin applying the new belief that is right for you.
