Self Limiting Beliefs – How To Work Them Out Of Your Mind And Into The Reality

Self-limiting beliefs are usually what we think stops us from taking action in life. But it doesn’t. It’s the beliefs you hold about yourself and your capabilities that actually do that. They’ll say things like:

“If I fail, nobody else will. If I succeed, then my competitors will do well. If I don’t succeed, no one else will.” Sounds good, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, this kind of thinking is self-defeating and rarely accomplishes anything.

To take action in life, you first need to remove these beliefs. That sounds easier said than done, so let me give you an example. If your belief is that you’ll never amount to anything, how’s going to realize that if you’ve already convinced yourself that you’re worthless? Therefore, change the belief to: “I’m a valuable person. If I succeed, others will as well.

If you want to achieve something, first you must take action. If your belief is that you can’t do something, you simply won’t be able to. But if you choose to believe that you are capable of doing something, you’ll be forced to take action. By removing self limiting beliefs like that, you’ll empower yourself to do the things you want to do.

As you learn more about yourself, you’ll notice that you have beliefs that are holding you back. Some of them are things you think you should believe because they are “right.” But the reality is that those beliefs are holding you back and they aren’t going to change no matter how much you convince yourself. To change them, you first have to believe that they are true. When you believe them, that changes the way you act – and the results will speak for themselves.

For example, if you believe that you don’t deserve the promotion you’re hoping for, change the way you talk to yourself about it. Start talking to yourself that you deserve the promotion and then take action. Tell yourself that you’ve worked hard for this promotion and that you are flattered and proud of yourself. Then take action by getting up early in the morning, going to work, and getting your work completed.

When you take actions to remove self-limiting beliefs, the results will surprise you. You’ll notice that things start to go your way from being tense all the time to being calm and relaxed all the time. In addition, other people will begin to treat you different than they have before. For example, they will treat you more kindly, be nicer to you, listen to you more often, and you will come across as a much more confident person.

So, stop living by self-fulfilling myths and start acting the way you really want to be treated. You deserve the promotion you’re hoping for so act on it. You have what it takes to be successful so stop acting like everyone else does and start acting like yourself. You will be surprised how much this will benefit you and everyone around you. So, start removing those self-limiting beliefs right now!

Another one of the self-defeating self-limiting beliefs is that I don’t deserve a promotion. This is actually a common belief among a lot of people. They believe that they don’t deserve what they want in life and this belief is the biggest reason they struggle to achieve their goals. You can do whatever you put your mind too and you don’t deserve to get fired from your job because of who you are.

You are exactly what you think you are and you deserve every bit of success that you achieve. Just because someone else has done something doesn’t mean you should follow them. Don’t believe that you are limited in skills or talents because the truth is that you were never as good as that person. The only person that can tell you whether you can do something is yourself. Stop making your life what other people want it to be and start believing that you can do anything.

Another negative belief that affects you is the idea that you can’t own certain things, such as houses, cars, computers, etc. This is another belief held by a lot of people and is actually one of the main reasons that prevent them from achieving success. There is an old saying that goes something like, “If you think you can, you probably can”, so this should be no different. If you believe that you can’t achieve certain things, then it’s going to be much more difficult for you to achieve them.

It’s important to take action and challenge your self-limiting beliefs. Once you know for sure that they are incorrect, then you can work to change them. You should never feel ashamed of challenging yourself, because it’s only by challenging yourself that you will be able to grow. Start with something small and build up from there. Over time you will be amazed at how strong your self-limiting beliefs are and how easy it is for you to overcome them.
