Beat Self Limiting Beliefs Before They Ruin Your Life

When I was growing up, there were many self-limiting beliefs I had. Some still do to this day. Self-limiting beliefs are just that – limiting. They keep you from doing and experiencing things you want to do and experience. They stop you from reaching your full potential.

Here’s an example. If a girl says to you, “I’m too fat,” or “It’s really too hot in here,” or any variation of these words, then you now believe something untrue about yourself. Your self-limiting beliefs are holding you back from living out your true potential. The good news is that by learning how to replace these limiting beliefs with new beliefs, you can change the way you perceive yourself and dramatically increase your personal success.

It’s all a matter of changing your beliefs to learn how to create your own reality. You see, the problem with many of our self-limiting beliefs is that we hold them over us like a blanket. That blanket is our interpretation of life. And unfortunately it’s always true that life is a challenge. So we’ve been trained to believe that it’s only going to be tough from here on out, and we’ve been led to think that by winning some more weight or getting that perfect body, life will somehow be easier.

But that’s not true. We were all created equal, and we all have the potential to be happy and successful. It’s just that each of us has different needs. What’s important is that you learn how to replace your self-limiting beliefs with healthy and positive ones. These are the ones that will make you a better person.

So, what are the self-limiting beliefs that you need to get rid of? The first one that I have is “I am only good enough”. This is the opposite of “I am intelligent enough” or “I am nice enough.” This belief keeps you in a state of never having achieved anything, and it perpetuates itself by making you think that you need to prove yourself to achieve more.

The second one is “I can do nothing right”. Again this is the opposite of the above beliefs. The simple logic behind this belief is that no matter how much I want something, I can’t possibly achieve it unless I do something. The problem with this one is that it creates fear in your mind. By believing that you can’t do something you force yourself into a position of paralysis where you are forced to believe that you don’t have the ability to do it at all. Over time this will lead you to believe that you must prove yourself at every turn, which defeats the very purpose of using your brain and learning new things.

The third is “I can’t do this won’t work.” This is yet another form of self-limiting beliefs that will not help you. In order to change these common limiting beliefs you have to take a step back and look at the situation from an objective perspective, one that doesn’t care about whether you like it or not. Once you do this you can realize that there are many successful things that you can accomplish in life, and that these things just don’t require that you prove yourself to anyone.

So what are some of the steps you can take to beat these common self-limiting beliefs once and for all? The first step is to create some new beliefs that will make you feel good instead of bad. By doing this you are forcing yourself to be happy with whatever decision you make in life and you will soon realize that life is far more enjoyable as a result. This will be the start of you realizing that you can do anything, no matter how hard it may seem.
