How To Know If You Have A Low Self-Esteem Vs. Ego

Is your Self-esteem or Ego more important? What is the best way to build your Self-esteem? How do you know which one to follow? Is there an easy way to know if you are on the right path? It seems we all have this internal struggle about what is the highest Self-esteem or Ego and if we set it right we will feel good about ourselves.

There is only one way to find out, write down what you want in life. Then go for it! Never try to make up your mind until you know exactly what you want and how to get it. Until then you are indecisive.

If you have the belief that you are on a journey then you are likely on the right track. You can either believe in yourself or the idea of a journey. The journey could be in achieving a goal, joining a team, getting hired, loving what you are doing, being successful etc. All of these things are possible when you have a healthy Self-esteem.

Self-esteem is like an empty boat without any paddle. Without a paddle you cannot make a voyage in life. It is what holds you back from becoming successful.

So what do we need to do to bring our Self-esteem to a level where we can truly enjoy our lives? We need to attack our ego. Let’s look at how we normally treat our Ego.

First we are not very honest with ourselves. It may seem to us that we are trying to be very open and honest to yourself. In fact we are not. We mask our true feelings and hide behind our Ego. This makes it impossible for us to really connect with ourselves.

When we try to connect with our ego we usually fall into the same behavior patterns as our fears. Instead of taking a good hard look at ourselves we will immediately attempt to “try” to fix whatever issue we are having by “playing the victim”. The Ego that we hide behind is not something we can control. And it is also not something we should have to.

So, instead of dealing with our fears we need to deal with our Self. After we become aware of who we really are we can then decide what our Self-esteem really needs. Once we understand that only we can control who we are then it becomes a lot easier to improve our Self-esteem. And if we are able to improve it we’ll feel better about who we are.
