Self Limiting Beliefs Are Part of the Problem in Your Life

Self-limiting beliefs are those that are most likely to hold you back from success in life. They are the ones that tell you that you cannot do something or will not allow you to do it. They are also those that tell you that you cannot do something big in life, like a job with a big salary. Below are just three of the biggest self-limiting beliefs that hold people back from success.

General Self-Limiting Beliefs: I am not good enough or not pretty or fit enough. This is the most common self-limiting belief. The fact is, if you think that you are not good enough or not attractive enough, it is not true. And it is not true that if you think that you are not pretty or not fit, you are not a good person. So, stop believing this belief.

You have many self limiting beliefs that you need to release. Some of these beliefs are: Everyone thinks alike, everyone is stupid, everyone is overweight, and so on. You have new beliefs to replace these old beliefs. This may be uncomfortable at first, but it will be better for you in the long run.

One of the easiest ways to release your self-limiting beliefs is to challenge them. You challenge your beliefs by asking yourself questions like: Am I really that good enough? Or: Am I pretty enough? Or: Am I fat enough? By challenging these thoughts, you get a new thought process. You begin to question your self opinions, and thus find out whether these are true.

Another way to release your self-limiting beliefs is to feel an overwhelming emotion. If you feel angry, release that emotion. This may be anger, fear, grief, sadness, etc. The important thing here is that this is an overwhelming emotion.

To release your self-limiting beliefs about yourself, you must know that you are not good enough, smart enough, fast enough, pretty enough, or ugly enough – any of which can be true at times. In fact, this knowledge can be empowering. You see, you have been carrying this belief around with you all your life. This is a learned, and unfortunately untrue, attitude. Now that you know you aren’t good enough, you can change your thinking to: Am I smart enough to achieve what I want?

This second statement is just a small part of what you can do when you are striving to become a more confident and assertive person. The above statements are just the tip of the iceberg. The best part is that you can do this in different ways. When you learn how to release self-limiting beliefs like the one above, you will find that you feel differently about yourself. You will also discover amazing new things about yourself that you never even knew existed.

The point is, as you dig deeper into releasing your self-limiting beliefs, you will realize there are many different ways you can release them altogether. This is where your subconscious mind takes over and your goals become more attainable. Once you start this journey to becoming more confident and assertive, it will be well on its way to transforming your life for the better.

Your attitude toward yourself is extremely important because it determines whether or not you will achieve your goals. The truth of the matter is, if your thoughts are self-defeating and discouraging, your brain will send out signals to your body that everything isn’t working out very well. Your body will then start to act out with annoyance and disappointment. If you continue to dwell on the negatives in your life, instead of focusing on your good enough thinking patterns, you will find it difficult to reach your full potential.

Self-limiting beliefs are a result of your cognitive distortions. These cognitive distortions are actually the mental habits you have developed over time that cause you to believe something is wrong with you when it is not. If you learn how to change these cognitive distortions, you will be able to eliminate them from your thought process and allow yourself to start believing things for which you are grateful. For example, instead of thinking that you are not smart enough to get a job, learn that you are very intelligent and that anyone can be successful at anything.

Another example of a self-limiting belief is the belief that failure is inevitable. If you convince yourself that you will never be happy or that failure is going to happen no matter what you do, you will remain stuck in your comfort zone. By choosing to believe new beliefs, you will be able to feel at ease and you will experience an entirely new level of happiness. You won’t just be happy because you have a new belief – you will be happy because you have a new understanding of your reality and the universe.
