The Number One Reason People Has Self Limiting Beliefs

Self limiting beliefs about yourself are the first roadblocks to success. They can be more detrimental than helpful. They can prevent you from reaching your full potential and sometimes prevent you from even trying. Here are six self-limiting beliefs and where they lead you.

General Self-Limiting Beliefs: You are not good enough – This is the self-limiting belief that stops many from pursuing their goals. This is the most popular belief among fear sufferers. I know from personal experience. If you believe you aren’t good enough, you aren’t going to try. Your new belief will be that you must be good enough and if you find you are capable of doing something, you won’t allow the belief to stop you.

This is a hard one to swallow when you are in the middle of a major challenge and feel like the world is against you. But unfortunately this is a self-limiting beliefs that you have internalized. That is, until you achieve it and then the overwhelming emotion that comes with knowing you have done it and that you have succeeded in overcoming whatever obstacle was holding you back. This often leads to depression.

You have reached a level of excellence – You reach a point in your life where you have achieved a certain level of excellence. Now you want more and you want it now. The problem is, many people use this as a motivation mechanism. The self-limiting beliefs that say, “If I get this, it will be better than what I have already done” are very common. If you have reached a point in your life where what you have done is no longer good enough, change your mindset by replacing your negative limiting beliefs with one of optimistic self-esteem and confidence.

Success is only possible with me – Another of the self-limiting beliefs is, “If I do it myself, it can’t be successful.” This is where you are limiting yourself and preventing yourself from achieving what you really want out of life. I am not saying that you should never attempt any task by yourself. You should, however, learn how to eliminate your negative limiting beliefs about self and create a new belief pattern of, “I can do anything I put my mind to.” As you replace your old self-limiting beliefs with this new belief, you will find yourself accomplishing more and achieving more. The result of which will inspire you to accomplish even more.

You will feel like a different person – Finally, one of the biggest killers of success is feeling like you are worthless and insignificant. Many people have the wrong self beliefs about themselves and this affects every area of their lives, including a lack of success. Most people have the belief that they are nothing but useless people. In order to change this, you must first change your beliefs about yourself and what you think about yourself and the way you feel about yourself.

If you learn to understand the power of your subconscious mind, you can take on any task with increased confidence and a new sense of empowerment. Self-limiting beliefs such as “I can’t,” or, “I can’t do it,” “It won’t work,” and, “It will fail” are common limiting beliefs and the most damaging. If you believe these things, you are limiting yourself from achieving your goals and having fun in the process. This will ultimately affect all areas of your life.

When you want something bad enough, you don’t even consider it. You just go ahead and do it because your brain believes it is what you want to do. You have the ability to remove your self-limiting beliefs at any point by using the power of your subconscious mind. The only place for these limiting beliefs to stay is in your subconscious mind. Once you learn how to remove them, your life changes dramatically. Your new found confidence and empowerment will make all the difference in the world.
